Information Society (band)
From InSocPedia
Information Society (commonly abbreviated "InSoc") is a synthpop band, most widely known for their 1988 hit single What's On Your Mind? (Pure Energy).
A particular hallmark of the band is their combination of dance beats, synthesizers, and a liberal dose of sampling from popular media.
Their most frequent sampling source is the original series of the popular television show Star Trek.
The lineup has changed greatly over the years, with no one person being involved through the entire history of the band.
The longest-running members of the group would be Kurt Harland, Paul Robb and James Cassidy,
and this combination would be the ones responsible for the sound which catapulted them onto the charts.
The band has re-formed with new members as of 2006, you can find out more at InformationSociety.us.
